So called on account of the Celtic design featured in the metal ring which supports the four, hollow silver alloy chimes. The Sailors Celtic Knot pattern is made by interlacing a rope around itself to make a long, weaving knot. Despite the appearance of two ropes, the design of this knot is actually just one rope looping around itself, then joining back up to itself to make an infinite loop.
The striker is of a black polymer (a hard synthetic material); the wind catcher is painted the same soft grey as the Celtic ring.
Hangs from a robust 'S'-hook.
