The design of this chime was inspired by the island paradise of
Hawaii: four hollow, silver alloy chimes are contained within a
cylindrical sleeve made of strips of bamboo stained a deep purple-red. The striker and the wind
catcher are of ash, coloured to match the bamboo.
Seated neatly in the top of the cylinder is a
solar powered light: the solar cells absorb energy during the day and
when darkness falls, the light automatically comes on.
Six hours of charging will generate around eight hours of light.
